He variously described it as global dance, universal dance, diversified dance using also related alternatives. The mark, brand name, he originated from the title and concept of his civil rights choreography "FUSION" in 1966 (the term a historical first as related to dance). The title he later trademarked as above and as FUSION® leading also to FUSION DANCE® and FUSIONDANCER® all of which (at common law since 1966 and 1980) he redefined as symbols by first right of creative authorship: the single word, and its variants he compounded, he did not interpret to mean literal "fusion" (as misconstrued by many latecomers). Everything else related to dance and exercise that looks identical or deceptively similar and/or not bearing the ® registration symbol on the internet and off-line is actual or potential violation of intellectual property rights, academic principles and professional ethics, common decency versus outright stealing of identity, subject to investigation and prosecution under applicable laws also standards of professional conduct.
